About the course

Course 1 introduces you to the foundations of global birthwork by situating your doula journey within a much wider story. You’ll learn what doulas do, how birth systems function across cultures, why maternal health looks so different around the world, and how your presence can make a meaningful difference. We explore identity, ethics, cultural humility, and the anthropology of the mother so that you begin this program grounded in context, care, and clarity. Start here to build a strong, inspired, globally-aware foundation for your work as a full-spectrum doula.

By the end of this course, you’ll understand:
